to the DR-Z400S is a compact digital instrument cluster that features

Suzuki V-Strom DL1000
A motorcycle
that stands in a category of it s own: The Sport-Adventure Tourer. Named
for its V-Twin engine and a stream of wind, or Strom in German, the V-Strom
is built for the rider with a sense of adventure and a young spirit. With
a proven V-Twin power plant, easy handling, sporty styling and comfortable,
relaxed riding position, the DL1000 promises to deliver a new adventure
every time you ride.
High mounted dual exhaust, knuckle covers, large comfortable seat and
sporty front fairing, combined with engine undercover, gives the DL1000
an adventurous look. With a 22 litre (5.8 gallon) fuel tank. Add to this
a standard luggage rack designed to accept hard bags and a tail trunk,
and the V-Strom is ready to take you away from it all.
A liquid-cooled 90-degree V-Twin with four valves per cylinder produces
996cc of displacement. Digital fuel injection and engine management systems
are designed to deliver exceptionally linear throttle response and better
fuel economy.
The DL1000 s advanced aluminum-alloy twin-spar frame is lighter than the
steel frames and combines with an aluminum-alloy swingarm. Seat height
is a reasonable 830mm (33.1 inch) and dry weight is the lightest in the
class at 207 kg (456 pound). Dual 310mm floating front brake discs work
with dual-piston calipers. The single 260mm rear disc works with a single-piston
caliper.
An Ultra-thin instrument cluster features a compact tachometer and speedometer
with LED backlighting. LCD digital odometer, dual-trip meters, water temperature
gauge, fuel gauge and digital clock are built into the speedometer and
tach faces. The windshield offers 2 in of adjustability to accommodate
riders of varying height. Turn signals, high beam, oil pressure, neutral,
water temperature, FI and overdrive are positioned in between the speedometer
and tachometer.
